1.1 Spectators are an integral part of the NEU community and contribute significantly to the atmosphere of the games. They are expected to uphold the same standards of conduct as all other participants.
1.2 Spectators are not allowed onto the track area for any reason during gameplay. This is to ensure the safety of the skaters and officials, as well as the spectators themselves.
1.3 In the event there is an injury, the Head Official may make an exception to allow a parent/guardian to enter the track. This is the only circumstance under which a spectator may enter the track area during gameplay.
1.4 Spectators are encouraged to cheer for their teams in a positive and respectful manner. Booing, heckling, or any form of negative cheering is strongly discouraged.
1.5 Spectators should respect the decisions of the officials, even if they disagree. Arguing with officials, coaches, or skaters is not acceptable behavior.
1.6 The use of alcohol, tobacco, and other legal drugs by spectators is strongly discouraged, and forbidden except as allowed by applicable state and federal laws. Intoxication will not be an excuse for behavior that violates any other tenant of this Code of Conduct.
1.7 Spectators should be mindful of the family-friendly nature of NEU events. Profanity, inappropriate gestures, or offensive clothing are not appropriate.
1.8 Spectators are encouraged to socialize and have fun at NEU events, but should do so in a way that respects the rights and comfort of others.
1.9 Any spectator who violates this Code of Conduct may be asked to leave the event by NEU officials or venue staff. Serious or repeated violations may result in further sanctions, including being banned from future NEU events.
Remember, the goal of the NEU is to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for everyone involved. As a spectator, you play a crucial role in achieving this goal. Thank you for your cooperation and support!
