Before proceeding, make sure you head over to our FAQ page if you haven’t already—especially if you’re new to roller derby. It covers a lot of the common questions we get and gives you a better idea of what to expect. If you’re brand new, be sure to read up on our Snow Flurries Crash Course, which is where all new skaters start. Done that? Move on to Step 2.

You'll have the chance to meet some of our skaters and coaches, ask questions, and learn what the Uprising is all about! Already a roller derby veteran? skip ahead to step 3!

Like what you saw at practice? Already a roller derby aficionado? Complete our Application and Waivers (this step needs to be completed with both a parent/guardian and the applicant)

Download the Heja app (available on Android and IOS), we will send you our team code once we receive your completed application. Heja will be NEU’s primary means of communication, and scheduling. To ensure no updates are missed It is mandatory that at least one caretaker is on the app.

Acquire gear: Quad skates (in-line skates and rollerblades will not be permitted), an approved helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, mouth guard.  Need a reminder of  what type of gear you need? no problem! Derby Gear 101
