We’re excited to announce tryouts for the 2025–2026 Silver City Rollers Travel Team, which will take place on Saturday, October 18, starting at 8:00 AM. Skaters must arrive on time, fully geared up, and ready to go when tryouts begin.
Silver City Rollers are a Girls Division team with playoff aspirations, and we’re looking for skaters who are committed, dedicated, and ready to take their game to the next level.

The tryouts will last 3 to 4 hours and will include a combination of drills and scrimmage time. Coaches will evaluate skaters on but not limited to:
- Skill
- Footwork
- Knowledge of the game
- Communication
- Effort
- Attitude
We believe that while skills can be developed over time, attitude is a crucial part of what makes a great teammate. We’re looking for skaters who demonstrate positivity, teamwork, dependability, and a willingness to be coached and work well with others. Skaters should show up ready to encourage others, take direction, and contribute to the overall success of the team, both on and off the track.
To be eligible for tryouts, skaters and families should be ready to:
- Be a level 3 skater registered with Nor’east Uprising Junior Roller Derby, in good standing with the league, and have all required forms on file, including the Skater and Parent Code of Conduct (sent after tryout registration)
- Aim to attend at least 3 out of every 4 Saturday practices before the October 18 tryouts, and continue that attendance throughout the season. Skaters who are exclusive to Nor’east Uprising should work toward the same attendance for Tuesday practices. Attendance at the final Travel Team practice before any game or tournament is mandatory.
- Sign the Travel Team Agreement and Travel Team Code of Conduct after tryouts, before the team charter is announced. These will outline expectations for attendance, effort, attitude, commitment, and the expected tournaments and schedule
- Be prepared to travel for games and tournaments outside the local area
- As a parent of a Travel Team skater, volunteer at games, tournaments, and practices, and participate in fundraising activities as required
- Pay reasonable additional fees beyond regular dues for expenses such as extra practices, tournament entries, and playoff participation. These will be detailed in the Travel Team Agreement
Tryouts
- Date: Saturday, October 18, starting at 8:00 AM
- Closed to everyone except skaters, coaches, and approved volunteers
Team selection
- Expected Travel Team size is between 12 and 15 skaters, with a maximum of 20
- A practice squad may be formed based on tryout results and team needs. Practice squad skaters will train with the Travel Team but will not be considered for the roster. There may be opportunities to move up during the season
Additional information
- A short meeting will be held before tryouts to review final details
- Skaters unable to attend tryouts should reach out so reasonable arrangements can be made
- Any information regarding tryouts or the Travel Team is subject to change. Families will be notified of updates in advance
By registering to participate in Silver City Rollers tryouts, you confirm that you have read and understand the eligibility requirements listed above and agree to meet them.
